How we got Blizzard
On September 17, 2000, we adopted a Golden Retriever puppy and named her Blizzard. Why Blizzard? Well, John was drinking a Sobe Liz Blizz at the time.....Blizzard was born on August 2 on a farm in Waleska, GA to parents Buck and Molly.
Blizzard has always been a sweet dog. She was scared the first few nights in her new home, so Frank slept next to her crate. She has been Daddy's little girl ever since.
She is an uncomplicated creature. Give her a ball, and she is content. Throw it for her and she is ecstatic. Take the ball away, and she is upset for a minute and then forgets about it. The only thing that upsets her is thunder.

How we got Gopher
On Christmas Eve, 2000, we drove to Montgomery, Alabama to pick up a female English Springer Spaniel from a rescue home that is part of the Chattahoochee English Springer Spaniel Club Rescue network. While there, we fell in love with a lively and cuddly young male dog and took him home instead. Opinions vary on what breed he is: either a full-blooded ESS of the "field-bred" type, or, to quote our vet, "Springer and somethin'." The boys named him Gopher, we're not sure why.
Gopher had been found on the side of the road, and he was about half his normal weight. His prior owners must have loved him, because he was crate-trained, leash-trained, and very affectionate. We think he will always remember what it feels like to be hungry, even though he hasn't missed a meal in years.
